Our lathes are manufactured entirely in Italy with high quality materials. The bed made in cast iron meehanite guarantees high precision in addition to a considerable resistance to wear. The slideways are induction hardened and ground. Surface hardness is about 450 Brinell.
HEAD-STOCK – the spindle is in case-hardened chrome-nickel-molybdenum steel, hardened and ground, the shafts are running in special precision bearings, type NNK. Gear-shafts and gear are also made in case-hardened and ground tempered chrome-nickel-molybdenum steel. All the moving parts are carried in high-precision ball or roller-bearings.
NORTON GEARBOX – automatically lubricated; giving the execution of threads both metric and in inches without changing gears.
APRON – completely sealed in a oil bath, it contains the feed mechanism.
SADDLE – it slides on liberally-dimensioned, very accurately fitted, prismatic guides. The axial loads are offset by a thrust bearings. The cross-slide guides are induction hardened and ground.
TAILSTOCK robust in construction. The barrel is in steel case-hardened and ground. It can be set over for taper turning.
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT – 24 V low tension fitted in an enclosed dust-proof housing. It follows EEC standards.
